Therapy Report Dominik Turkey 2011

Posted by Dolphin Therapy Team in Therapy TestimonialsNo Comments »/

Dominik‘s Therapy was a wonderful time which brought about big changes. Dominik got on well with the therapists who cared for him, and naturally us too. We were very competently counselled and received a hearty welcome. We felt quite at home. Dominik can move his left hand much better than beforehand. Moreover he can stand up with support. His muscular system is much more relaxed. Dominik can pass various things from his left hand to his right and back again. His torso rotation has also improved. He can stand with support and walk in his trainer. The work of the therapists, the personnel and Dominik has initiated these changes.

We, the family, especially Dominik, give again a big thanks to Frau Weis, for enabling us this opportunity.

Dolphin Therapy of Jacqueline

Posted by Dolphin Therapy Team in Therapy TestimonialsNo Comments »/

Sooo, I have unfortunately had no time to write here about the course of the therapy and its successes. Forgive me for this, but other things had to be done first…

This was the state of things BEFOREHAND:
We have a daughter suffering from Epilepsy, she had various treatments at home before the therapy but with little success. She cannot walk, crawl or sit by herself. She waves her hands, waves them so long until she touches something to grasp. Her glance was not fixated. Her eating behaviour is also very bad. She has problems with her posture and sits in a wheel chair.

Then came the two weeks in Mamaris…
The therapists were very nice and Jacqueline was also enthusiastic. Our little one received Physio, Riding and Dolphin Therapy. Physio alternated with Riding therapy in the morning. Dolphin therapy was DAILY! Read the rest of this entry »

Hello dear Axel Linke, dear Dolphin Team !

We arrived back safely in cold Germany-thank god I am nearly over my fear of flying, I was even looking out of the window all the time and I was impressed with the view!! Was that the dolphins? The luggage is unpacked, the washing maschine is on, Bernd is back at work, Simon is mowing the lawn and is looking after the horses and Tobias has to work this evening. He is trying to make friends with cats after I said to him they are little dolphins with hair and he should give them a chance. Maybe, thanks to Flip, he will lose his dislike of cats. WDSF Campaign – Reader’s Letter

This message reached us after our report on the whale and dolphin protectors. Many thanks to family Schürbusch

First of all I would like to say that I absolutely respect and support reasonable Wildlife Conservation. Every person who puts himself out for another living being deserves acclaim.

I am a mother of a disabled child. My son has retarded development problems and suffers from fits. In the past we were more in hospitals than at home. After more than 30 fits my endurance was at an end. Again and again I saw my child unmoving with his muscles cramped, his face turning blue, for three years I couldn’t leave him for 1 second out of my sight. Then his development slowed and he was not able to do things that other children of his age had long since accomplished. Also to experience that pained my heart. I couldn’t lead a normal life.

At 3 yrs. He couldn’t speak a single word, was not alert to danger and was always falling over. My life was composed only of fear, worry about the future and visits to Therapy.

Dolphin Therapy of family Schürbusch

The visit to Kemer definitely produced the first visible progress. He began to speak, learned to climb stairs on his own and became more open and self-confident. Read the rest of this entry »

Dolphin Therapy report from family Schröder

Posted by Dolphin Therapy Team in Therapy TestimonialsNo Comments »/

Dear Dolphin Therapy Team,

Janik was in Kemer for therapy from 5.6. – 19.6.2010 with his grandparents and was treated by Splash the dolphin and the therapists Fleur, Crissy, Anke, Beata and more whose names escape me.

We, the grandparents, only have Janik during the holidays and when he is ill and has to visit the lung specialist. So we only notice the progress he has made during a fifth of the last half year.

Janik is a lot more confident, doesn’t run away in panic from every animal. A while ago riding on the tandem a cat sprang into his lap. He didn’t shout, he threw up his hands but not defensively or screaming as he used to. He strokes his therapy horse even if it is dirty and he even scratches out the hooves as if it is a matter of course with him. He dares to lead the horse with its reins, he combs his therapy dog at eye level. Read the rest of this entry »

Appeal to send Ethan to Turkey for therapy

Posted by Dolphin Therapy Team in Media ReportsNo Comments »/

Article by newspaper The Press and Journal Limited, 22.11.2010, author: STEPHEN CHRISTIE

THE parents of a severely disabled north-east boy have launched an appeal to send the youngster for pioneering dolphin therapy in Turkey.

Six-year-old Ethan Scott, from Fraserburgh, has autism, epilepsy and suffers from extreme behavioural problems and was once described by nursery teachers as the most complex child they had ever taught.

His parents, Victoria and Robert, are now hoping to raise the £4,300 needed for the dolphin programme in Kemer, in the south-west of the country.

The course is run by marine biological psychologists and Mr and Mrs Scott hope it could make even the smallest difference to Ethan’s condition.

“If there’s even the slightest glimmer of hope we’re going to pursue it,” his mother said.

Mrs Scott, 26, added: “It was my mum who learned about the course during a holiday to Turkey.

“This time it will be far from a family holiday and we really hope it will make a difference.” Read the rest of this entry »

Thank you from Kirill, his mom and dad

Posted by Dolphin Therapy Team in Therapy TestimonialsNo Comments »/

Dear Beata,
Dear Sema,

it seems only yesterday that we returned home from the Dolphin therapy, but in reality nearly two months have passed. We are very thankful for what you did for Kirill during the course. Kirill has progressed a lot since that! He is much more coordinated now, goes on stairs alone, without any help! He tries to jump, rides bicycle (!) and even tires riding scooter (!!) – that’s something I couldn’t even imagine! Also, he helps himself during the meals – eats with a spoon and with a fork (awkwardly, but still he does it!)

Dolphin therapy in Kemer: Kirill has progressed a lot

Therapy Report, Family Raic 23. June to 07. July

Hello, We can finally tell you something about our visit at your facility from 23rd June to 7th

Our Dejan has become a really funny guy since we visited you. We did not notice much of a change in him until about a month ago

It is easier for him to pronounce words and he can say up to five sentences together. It was only two or three before and only we could understand him, whereas now he speaks much clearer and even people who do not know him very well can understand him. He is much more fun now and likes to goof around. It is very great, world class to us. His concentration in school has gotten much better. His “Spastik” is still very strong, but he relaxes quickly now when we tell him to “relax”….

We are very happy with these results and would like to come again, we hope we can!…….

We would like to thank you all again from the bottom of our hearts and give our greetings to Svetlana, Barbara,

Sahli und Koko.
See you soon. Family Raic: Djula, Dejan and Milenko
