After over a year of argument with the Whale and Dolphin Protection Forum (WDSF) over various claims made over our Therapy Center, at long last the WDSF has acknowledged the judicial order made by the OLG Hamm prohibiting further such claims.
As already reported, in May 2011 we instigated a court injunction against the WDSF that prohibited certain claims they made to injure our reputation.
These claims that the WDSF made in their Boycott Campaign, which covered all dolphinariums in Turkey, including our Onmega Dolphinarium, were unacceptable; many statements concerning hotels and travel agencies, and pictures of Dolphinariums, were mixed up to coat all such facilities in Turkey ‘with the same brush’.
Our Dolphin Therapy Center compared to other Dolphinariums in Europe is the largest, and unique in that it has its dolphins swimming freely in a sea water dolphinarium. We strictly adhere to the German Animal Protection Standards and place great importance on how our animals are held, and on our qualified personnel. Our main intent of the said injunction was to stop the WDSF spreading false rumours that were obviously intended to injure our reputation.
The Landgericht Hagen as also the Oberlandesgericht Hamm in the course of this injunction examined the claims that had been made. Even though certain statements were protected by freedom of speech, the OLG Hamm prohibited the WDSF to publish claims that our dolphins were kept in small concrete pools, or that they were caught in defiance of the law against capture of wild animals, that they had scars and deep wounds, or were molested by kicks from spectators. Furthermore, the WDSF is prohibited to claim that they were threatened by us, and that we are enmeshed with the authorities in Antalya. The WDSF has also been forbidden to proclaim a Boycott and show their film, on Internet, that bunches all the various dolphin facilities in Turkey together, making false statements about our Dolphin Therapy Center.
The ruling made by the OLG Hamm is res judicata and has been accepted by the WDSF.
Because of the one-sided Reports made by the WDSF together with the court proceedings it is our wish to rehabilitate our Dolphin Therapy in this way, as we also support initiatives that are against the holding of dolphins in too small or inappropriate enclosures. With respect to our friends, Patients and their families, we could not take such injurious allegations lying down; these allegations have now been prohibited by a court order which has been accepted by the WDSF.
We are of course ready to answer any questions you may wish to ask.

Posted by Dolphin Therapy Team in Therapy TestimonialsNo Comments »/We arrived back from Turkey a week ago. The Dolphin Therapy was super. The Hotel and surroundings were beautiful and we also had a hotel room suitable for disabled persons, even though the Hotel had informed you that such a room was unavailable.
We found the Therapy most satisfactory. We were cared for by educated personnel who had the necessary expertise, they were very friendly and worked with us perfectly, as also with one another. It was well worth it and we can certainly recommend the Therapy Center. Read the rest of this entry »

Samir Balota`s condition after Dolphin Therapy
Posted by Dolphin Therapy Team in Therapy TestimonialsNo Comments »/Dear Mr Turgay and the Onmega Dolphin Center team. After returning from Antalya I would like to give you an interim Report. First of all I shall write about changes in Samir during the first month. Samir’s improvement in co-ordination was almost unbelievable. These positive developments were reflected in his work at school. My son, with whom I had great difficulty getting him to walk, now walks without problems. He can concentrate a lot better. Samir now follows all instruc tions from his teacher. Everyone has noticed a wonderful change in Samir.
Dear Mr Turgay, this is mostly your doing – my whole life I shall thankfully think on what you have done for us.

Dolphins give Dilsah Sue strength
Posted by Dolphin Therapy Team in Media ReportsNo Comments »/Dramatic Meeting: Dilsah Sue with a therapist at work with a dolphin. The animals in Antalya live in a free-water dolphinarium. Her mother is fighting for a further course of treatment.
Dilsah Sue is blabbing. The past year the girl with the dark eyes manages in this way to communicate that she wants to say something. For longer than this she has been able to walk. In 2007 she managed to get up off the floor for the first time and then, slowly but progressively, over the following year she learned to walk. This was a big achievement for the nine year old and her family.
Dilsah Sue came into the world with a hernia of the diaphragm. In the sixth month of pregnancy the doctors diagnosed that the diaphragm of the little girl had not closed. The organs in the stomach region were not held in place and put pressure on the lungs. Read the rest of this entry »
Third Dolphin Therapy for Leon in Antalya
Posted by Dolphin Therapy Team in Therapy Testimonials3 Comments »/So, it is now time for the Report of our third Dolphin Therapy, from 09.09 – 23.09.2011, in the ONMEGA Dolphin Therapy Center in Antalya, Turkey!
After the very, very good experiences we had in the Dolphin Therapy Center in 2008 and 2009, we were certain that we would return. In December our bookings were made and we were already looking forward……
On 09.09.2011 at long last the time had come, the aircraft flew us south, to the dolphins !!
As Leon had his therapy bicycle with him this time, we had booked a special Transfer through the Therapy Center, which worked very well. After a short wait we drove from the airport in Dalaman straight to the Club Turban Hotel in Antalya. We were so pleased with the Hotel last time we decided to stay there again. Everything there is suitable for children and the disabled, and the staff is really kind.
The weather was, apart from 2 rainy afternoons, super; sunshine and a temperature of 40°C, not so hot as in July. Just right for us after the bad Summer we had at home.
After 2 days relaxing on the beach, on Monday we started Leon’s therapy program. We had met Barbara on the platform the day before….. Leon recognized Barbara straight away, we were all happy and the atmosphere was warm and friendly as it had been in previous years. As if we had never left. Read the rest of this entry »
