DEAR BARBARA DEAR TEAM

I can hardly find the words, but I would like to try to express the uniqueness and happiness that we experienced together.

Daisy brought so much joy into Jennifer’s life and it was incredible to see her so happy and boisterous after so many years. Even after such a short time I can register successful developments, and that is all down to your good work.

She makes progress daily, in her speech and in her co-ordination and also she is more grown-up and mature socially. Her sleeping problems have also strongly improved. Jennifer has less nightmares and at night she sleeps better and longer.
When we began our journey I had certain but few expectations, but this – these experiences have surpassed everything by far.

Jennifer talks more often – she even SINGS…..whole songs. We often sing the Daisy song in the car. She can also now sing the Worm song, almost on her own….

It is like receiving a gift to experience this. After so many bad prognoses, so much success, it is like a dream….

I would like to express my whole-hearted thanks to everyone who helped to bring this by. I cannot name everyone, but each person should know that they have brought us closer to our goal and our dreams

I hope and wish that we shall be seeing each other again soon.

Herewith are a few lines that I wrote for my daughter, perhaps they will give courage to parents of other children, who are also living through a difficult period.

WITHOUT WORDS

MY CHILD

You have entered my life for me. So that you can show me how strong you are and how much you love life and to give me a wonderful challenge.

You show me every new day how much effort I can bring.

You are a small soul, sent from God, as I was sent from God, to discover and gain knowledge.

We promised each other a long time ago to undergo everything together, and the life which we have chosen together is a great challenge for us.

You fill me deeply with love when I see how you meet this challenge in your own way. You alter your own fate to make it something very special.

You fill me with pride, you radiate your will and strength, you charm the world with your smile. You touch every moment – strengthening people to follow your way easing their pain through their belief in you.

I needed a long time to accept our life – even longer to understand that you don’t belong to me.

You are a child of God, as we all are, and it is selfish of me to decide which way you are to follow. Or for how long. It is time to understand that struggle can only bring more struggle – but love can heal. The pain will fade. It is time to understand how important it is to let go. Nothing can come between us.

We are one – And that which was always joined together can never be parted by anything.

I enjoy the time we can spend together and play with the flowers of forgetfulness, you give me the strength and might to do this. We are living in the here and now – the present. Life is what you make of it!

I discard my fears of losing you – and trust you, because I love you above everything..
