Report of Leon Paul Kolodjezak’s dolphin therapy from 12.07.-26.07.08
Hey, as promised this is the therapy report from Leon’s 1st. dolphin therapy from 12.07.-26.07 in the Antalya dolphin therapy center .
Your dolphin therapy center is very nice, you are a great team, very nice and competent.
We have never been in turkey, but Antalya is a beautiful place. The city itself has a lot of tourism, hotel next to hotel. We were very happy with our hotel Grand Yacizi Mares. The food was great, location was not in the city center, but directly on the sea-front.
All great things to start a dolphin therapy!
We were nervous to see how Leon would handle the flight, but he flew as if he had never been doing anything else!

Report from Hoofddorp about Kay’s dolphin therapy
Posted by Dolphin Therapy Team in Therapy TestimonialsNo Comments »/Written by Monique and Ferry
So here finally our report from Hoofddorp.
We waited a long time before writing our experience report about Kay’s dolphin therapy in August 2007. We wanted to see what effects it would have throughout the months following therapy.
Kay, a multiple complex disabled, 16 year old boy, experienced months of pain after a hip operation in June 2006 because of medical egligence. Because of this, Kay lost all trust in his own body which led to muscle tension with a Scoliose-development of 65 degrees. Read the rest of this entry »

We took part in Dolphin Therapy with our daughter Ella from 25.08. to 08.09.2008 in Antalya.
What did Dolphin Therapy do for us?
After our stay in Turkey we have been asked this question many times. The answer is not quite so simple.
What has changed ?
Has anything changed ?
But let us start at the beginning. In January 2008 we made a snap decision and applied for Dolphin Therapy for Ella. On 25.08.08 we (Ella, her brother Roman, Christine and Frank Nödinger), arrived in Antalya. The Hotel Grand Yazici Mares (now called the Dolphinpark Mares) we liked right from the start. We had a very nice bungalow with a sea view. The very next day we were welcomed by Suna and invited to our first discussion. Later on Veronica explained everything to us and so we were keyed up as on the following day it was all to start. Read the rest of this entry »

Hello, just dropping you a quick line to let you know about Sabine.
She talks a lot, also more in sentences (eg. What’s your name? Where are we going? Who was that?) She often repeats what we say and she imitates movements with her body too.
That ‘no’ is no longer usual. More and more she can stop walking, stand on her own, and pick up something from the floor. Read the rest of this entry »

Parent report from Leon from 11.08.2008 – 25.08.2008
This year I finally had time to write a report and I cannot even express how grateful I am towards Barbara and Daisy. We already had been to dolphin therapy last year with Leon (8).
We kept our expectations for the therapy very low so we would not be disappointed. As Leon suffers from multiple disabilities, we were not sure what kind of changes could be expected.
Leon could only speak a few words last year before the therapy, and even these few were very hard to understand. Right after the 4. therapy with Daisy, Leon started saying several words and they became more and more with time. Overall, his whole development took a giant step forwards. We still cannot believe what Daisy brought out in Leon.
Leon also has a balance problem which makes walking impossible for him. But even this has improved and he can now walk a few meters with the rollator. Because of these great improvements we decided to do another therapy. As the whole team moved in the Winter we were looking forward to our next trip to turkey even more (the Antalya Resort was not so great). We booked ourselves a room in the Grand Yaszici and it was great. Read the rest of this entry »

Dear Barbara,
I hope you have enjoyed the holidays and new year festivities to the full.
After an arduous few weeks everything is running smoothly again. Michael took quite a while (from mid-November) to recover from his illness. Weakened by his serious infection he was assailed by colds and flu and it has taken a lot of time to discover that he has again reacted very well to the dolphin therapy. Read the rest of this entry »

Therapy Report from Family Eilmsteiner 26. July-09. August 2008
Hello Veronika, Dean and the whole therapy team!
First of all we would like to thank you all, especially Veronika and Dean. It was a great and successful time that we got to spend with you.
On the 26.July 2008 at midnight our journey started. We were very excited to see how our trip and the therapy would go. Our journey went very smoothly and the hotel Grand Yacizi Mares was very nice. Our bungalow was very big and the location was central and quiet.
The next day we had our meeting with the therapists. We had a great first impression and were excited about the therapy start. Read the rest of this entry »

Maxi’s second dolphin therapy in Antalya
Posted by Dolphin Therapy Team in Therapy TestimonialsNo Comments »/Written by Tina & Len Kuhn
Maxi’s second dolphin therapy in Antalya, Turkey from 16.6 until 7.7.2008
After the positive experiences from last year (Sept. 2007) we decided to do another dolphin therapy. In the months after the last therapy, Maxi showed great progress with his head control.
Some info about our Maxi
Maxi was born on the 07.01.05 as a healthy baby and stopped developing when he was 6 months old. He is still like a “big baby”-rolls, but cannot sit, crawl, walk or speak. He has problems with coordination and perception. We also do not know how much he can see. A diagnonsis/cause for his mental and motoric developmental block has not been found yet, despite numerous medical examinations in and out of the country.
